Impartial and Busy
Impartial and Busy
Today everyone is claiming Black Lives Matter, Blue Lives Matter, Native American Lives Matter, White Lives Matter! What in the world are we doing in a world where HUMAN LIVES MATTER!
If we are going to say we are Christian we have to go by what the Bible, God's Word, says on EVERY matter! Let's look at James 2: 8 & 9...
"If you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou Shalt love thy neighbor AS yourself, you do well: But if you have respect to persons, you commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors."
What does this mean? It means if you think better of one person over others because of their station in life, their race, religion or even the job they do, then YOU do not love your neighbor as yourself. You are prejudice. You cannot set someone else as lesser or greater than anyone else and still say you are loving your neighbor. Jesus already proved who our neighbors are. Everyone who knows Him knows the story.
When a person says to me that he 'was talking to a man or woman the other day', I give no thought to what race that person was they were talking to. Yet, when someone has to add 'I was talking to a black man or woman' then that tells me that person has a problem whether he wants to admit it or not. You never hear them say "I was talking to a German man, an Irish woman, a white man, an Indian man" when they relate their conversation. The culture we live in has trained us to separate black from...any other person.
Christ brought us a different way of life. We must be different from the world and not fall into their sin. God created all men and women from Adam & Eve, and even if you only want to go back as far as Noah, it's still the same genes.
As God created variety in flowers, fish, animals and birds He thought it beautiful to create variety of Man and Woman in so many colors and designs.
Some have dark brown eyes, some blue, gray, green, and so many variations of color. Some have eyes straight, slanted up, slanted down. What variety!
We must be fruitful. We must be doing something good with our lives for the benefit of others, for His Kingdom's sake. God doesn't need us to shop for Him or pick up His mail. He needs us to care for each other with a pure heart. Not to gain anything in return except knowing we did what we ought to do and know He is pleased.
James 2:14 says "What does it profit, my brothers, though a man say he has faith, and have not works? can faith save him?"
So many who claim to be Christian would just as much rather someone else do something about the need at hand. "They have ministries for that" "There is already someone doing that" We can find every excuse in the book not to do something about what we see happening until we turn to God's word that tells us to WORK: VS 15-18 tells us to get busy if we have faith. You can't sit idle and expect to be right with God. Jesus said IF you are my disciple you will OBEY my commands. Love is the greatest. Love doesn't sit back and let people of any sort be abused, hurt or killed for any reason. Too many are afraid to speak out, tell the truth and make a difference. We love the Psalms don't we? Almost everyone knows the 23rd Psalm. Yet they forget that it says "Yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will FEAR NO Evil!"
Psalm 1:1-3 says Blessed is the man (person) that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But, his (her) delight is in the law of the LORD; and in His law does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth fruit in his season:his leaf also shall not wither; and WHATSOEVER he DOES shall prosper.
Let's get real. It's God's way that makes a person successful when they follow Him and His word. We must be busy at doing God's will, speaking His word, sharing the good news of HIS Kingdom and loving our neighbor as ourselves.
We make sure to take care of ourselves but what do we do for anyone else in need? Helping people who don't need help doesn't get the job done. Let's start helping those who can't help themselves. Most people in need aren't there because they want to be. TRUTH: Some choose the way of homelessness or poverty intentionally, but that is not the norm. Truth:There are people who you can help. Get out of your comfort zone and start applying the scriptures to yourself instead of everyone else around you. You can make a difference today if you really want to! God is looking for people who will LISTEN to what His spirit is saying. He wants to direct you and use you for His glory. Are you willing? God is willing to make you able!
